14-3-3sigma is a protein that is 248aa long and functions as a dimer. When it is mutated by a hyper-methylation in the promotor region of the protein, it causes a loss of function response and it can no longer perform to suppress tumors. It has one domain, a 14-3-3 domain and has lots of recurring serine/threonine motifs which will be discussed here. A comic version of the protein is depicted below.
